Car Parks Update - May 2019

The actions in the UAE are ongoing. We recognise the frustrations of wanting a completion as soon as possible and we are pushing for this but we are constrained by the court timetable.

Following on since the last update, the expert witness that we described becoming involved in the case has now investigated bank transfer movements of banks accounts of the accused. A report has been completed and sent back to the court; we do not know the contents of this report as it is for the court to inform us. Best were asked to supply evidence of certain transactions and it seems there are other transactions that have now come under scrutiny of the expert. As such, whilst we will only have this fully clarified in court, it appears other assets and transactions may well have been brought under scrutiny of the court which could increase the pot of assets that the legal case can claim. This was a primary target of the expert being requested rather than taking a quick win which would have saved circa 2 months of the case.

Currently we are in Ramadan and we are informed that the next court date will be shortly after the festive period ends. We are advised that this should be a substantive court session that sets out all the information required in preparation for the next process of collection to start.

Mazars and the Car Park Owners Association are being kept up to date with progress.
